 Open Auditions for Hoboken’s award-winning Hudson Theatre Ensemble (www.hudsontheatreensemble.com)  production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.

 

Auditions held at Hudson School Performance Space, 601 Park Ave., Hoboken, NJ 07030 (see website for directions) on Monday 1/18/10 & Wednesday 1/20/10 7-9 PM.  Callbacks held Thursday and following Sunday (if necessary).  Sides provided.  Non-equity.  Non-paid.  Rehearsals evening &/or weekends.  Performances in Hoboken on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 2010.

 

Hatcher’s adaptation, a 2008 Edgar Award Nominee for Best Play, honors the original novella but adds a brisk pace, contemporary sensibility, and complex interpretation of the murky relationship between good and evil.  This is not your grandfather’s Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde!

 

5 Men, 3 Women (doubling).   Please note that there are six Mr. Hyde’s two of whom are female.  The ensemble will play a variety of characters ranging in age from 20-60. The play is set in London, 1883.

 

 We also seek an experienced stage manager as well as assistant stage manager & crew.  Training is available for interested crew.
