Where is Hoboken? Hoboken is a city in Hudson County, New Jersey with a population 50,000. The city is part of the New York metropolitan area and a major transportation hub for the region. Hoboken is also the location of the first recorded baseball game in the United States, and of the Stevens Institute of Technology, one of the oldest technological universities in the United States as well as the home of Carlos Bakery from the hit TLC show the “Cake Boss”.
The character of the city has changed from a blue-collar town to one of upscale shops and condominiums. Hoboken is part of the New Jersey Gold Coast and recently opened it’s first luxury hotel, the W Hoboken Hotel. It is the home to many performing artists and sports stars from the New York Giants, New Jersey Devils and the New York Red Bulls.
